Senior Finance Manager, Strategic Analytics and Reporting gRED Finance As a key contributor to the Genentech Research and Early Development ("gRED") Finance team, the Senior Finance Manager, Strategic Analytics and Reporting, will lead financial planning, performance and risk analyses supporting Project Portfolio, Functional and Corporate Finance executive leadership. The position requires a hands-on professional who is passionate about financial data mining, structuring and quality enhancing to derive clear and robust strategic analyses that lead to insightful business decisions with positive contribution to gRED drug development mission. This position will be a key cross-functional interface between functional and project finance groups. It is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Research and Project Finance. Responsibilities: * Flexibly execute on diverse assignments from Sr Finance Leadership in a fast pace environment (e.g. project portfolio analytics, spending forecasts, cost benchmarking, cost/risk analysis, strategic communication, financial model quality enhancement etc); * Creatively problem-solve through structuring, modeling, consolidating and analyzing financial data; * Strategically distillate large sets of information into compelling business conclusions and clear presentations; * Diplomatically liaise and align stakeholders in an intense project-function matrix and global environment; * Constructively propose and implement enhancements to financial systems and models supporting analyses; * Eagerly seek and apply knowledge of biopharma early development operational drivers in strategic finance analyses. Requirements: * Experienced with complex financial modeling and business analysis * Experienced with financial planning, reporting and strategy processes * Experienced with financial systems and data retrieval * Ability to independently frame analytical problems and structure solutions * Experienced with project-functional matrix environment, cross-functional savvy * Excellent executive communication * Basic knowledge of the drug development process Qualifications: * BS-BA in Business or Science from top tier University, MBA a strong plus * Minimum of 7 years of work experience in a strategic and business finance role * Prior work with biopharma or healthcare organization a strong plus * Prior work with top tier strategy consulting or finance firm a strong plus * Excellent Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Essbase skills

ROLE Heading up PayPal’s European Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, this position is a member of and partners with the European Management team as well as Corporate FP&A team to provide strategic & operational analytical insights and associated actions, financial planning and reporting as well as effective financial control to assist the business maintain and accelerate its high growth trajectory. RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide detailed strategic insight into the dynamics of the differing parts of the EU business (on-eBay, merchant services, financial products and new business opportunities) and recommend associated actions. • Work with EU CFO, CEO and local Business Unit management to create monthly forecasts, quarterly targets and annual budgets for the region that meet group objectives. Partner with the business to meet the operating plan. • Extract, analyse and collate data from a variety of sources to create both regular and ad hoc reporting plus insightful commentary for senior EU management and global finance teams. • Drive optimal decision making through extensive financial and quantitative analysis, including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and Net Present Value modelling. • Partner with Business Unit management to regularly identify and evaluate financial issues and business opportunities. • Develop a deep understanding of all costs associated with the European Income Statement, and manage the business growth with expanded margins. • Successfully manage, coach and develop the EU FP&A team comprising 8 permanent and 2/3 interns who are highly talented and motivated professionals, providing leadership, challenging assignments, and career paths. • Collaborate extensively with EU and global Finance management across the eBay Inc group

Duties of the Controller will include preparation of the financial statements, audit of financial statements (creating footnotes, etc.), year end statements and creation of financials showing all companies based on industry, execution of the company's financial plans, cost accounting, budgetary controls, business projections and financial analyses.
